Energy

Among global investors, not all realize that Canada is sitting on oil reserves that are second only to that of Saudi Arabia. Just in the province of Alberta's oilsands, there is 250 billion barrels of oil. Saudi Arabia is estimated to have at least 275 billion barrels of oil. This figure does not include Canada's other regions where there are oil and gas opportunities.

Next to Alberta, the province of Saskatchewan also has oil and gas that is still nowhere near to being fully explored. The west coast province British Columbia is also known to have promising natural gas deposits. Off the east coast of Canada, oil and natural gas reserves are waiting to be pumped out. There are still many parts of the east coast that has yet to be explored.

Canada is one of the few remaining countries where its energy patch is still open to private investment. For energy companies looking for new frontiers, it is becoming more challenging. Countries with significant oil deposits such as Russia and Venezuela are nationalizing their energy operations. Whether junior sized or multi-national, Canada is home to world-class energy exploration and producing companies.
